2014 SLACKLINE COMPETITIONS
NATIONWIDE, USA — Who's ready for some intense slackline action? I know we are and you likely are too! We've got our competition calender all lined up and read to go! We kick things off first by going to Richmond Virginia, May 16-18, for our 3rd time to host the Dominion Riverrock Gibbon Games Slackline Open! Next up we are headed to Simpsonville South Carolina for the ALOFT Gibbon Games Slackline Open, May 23-26. When those two east coast competitions are over it is time to head back west to Colorado were we'll be putting on a Gibbon Games Slackline Jam at the Lyons Outdoor Games on May 31st. Once all three of those competitions are in the books it is time to head up to the mountain town of Vail Colorado where we'll be at the GoPro Mountain Games to host the WSFed Slackline World Cup! 32 athletes from all over the world will be fighting for the win. 2012 WORLD SLACKLINE FEDERATION WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
BOULDER, CO - The top slackliners from around the globe have spent the past year training, traveling and competing to earn the chance to battle for the sport’s highest honor: World Champion. On November 8-11, the world’s best slackliners will convene in Boston for the 2012 World Slackline Federation World Championships, the most anticipated slackline event of the year. Sponsored by Vibram USA, MadRock and Bridges Rock Gym, Gibbon USA will be hosting the event at The Boston Ski & Snowboard Expo, taking place at the Seaport World Trade Center. Held for the first time in the United States, the top eight globally ranked professional slackliners will battle head-to-head for the chance to earn slacklining’s ultimate title. READ MORE...
VAIL, CO - Competitive slacklining. If that sounds like an oxymoron, you must not have been in Vail this past weekend, when the sport made its debut at the annual Teva Summer Mountain Games. No one brought his A-game more than Alex Mason, a 14-year-old wunderkind from southern California who edged out big-name rivals, including Japan’s Gappai Osug; reigning world champ Michael Payton, 24; and wild man “Sketchy” Andy Lewis, 25, to win Teva’s inaugural Gibbon Games event.
